Lydia P. Young, 94, of David City died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 24 at 10:00am in St. Luke's United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Schutt oficiating. There will be a lunch immediately following the funeral service in the church basement.
Burial will be at 2:00pm at Westlawn Cemetery in Omaha.
Viewing will be on Monday, from 4-7pm at Chermok Funeral Home and Tuesday; one hour before services at the church.

Lydia Young was born on October 27,1914 to Edward and Anna(Ostry)Polacek on the farm in rural Saunders County. She married Clyde Hess on November 25, 1936. After Clydes death in 1958, she married Claude Young on March 18, 1961. They lived in the Omaha area and Lydia worked as a statistician for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. She retired from there in 1973. She and Claude moved to David City and she was active in the United Methodist Church Women on the local, district, and conference level. She was also active in the David City Senior Center and worked Meals on Wheels for 10 years.
She was a participant in Voices to th Capitol, a monthly publication by Peace with Justice Ministry.
Lydia is survived by her brother: Jerry Polacek of David City, her sister: Agnes Dohse of Omaha, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husbands: Clyde in 1958 and Claude in 1979 and two brothers: Edward and Ernest Polacek.
