Lucille Pickhinke, 86, of Howells, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Due to circumstances beyond anyones control the Funeral Mass and burial for Luciille will now be a PRIVATE event. Only immediate family will be present, but the funeral will be livestreamed on our Facebook page.

All visitors are asked to generally minimize person-to-person contact, practice good hygiene, and minimize touching commonly contacted surfaces.


Lucille A. Pickhinke was born on July 17, 1934, to Joseph and Anna (Bartunek) Tschantre on their farm near Clarkson.
She attended local schools and graduated from Clarkson High School.
She received all of her sacraments at Wilson Church in rural Colfax County including her marriage to Marvin Pickhinke on April 23, 1953. To this union, five sons were born. She was a stay at home mother and wife for several years, but later worked as an CNA at the Dodge Nursing Home for over 30 years.

Lucille was a member of St. John's Church and Altar Society in Howells. She belonged to the local extension club and card club. She enjoyed bowling, working in her large flower garden and decorating her home for the change of seasons. Christmas was her favorite holiday to prepare, decorate and bake for, making sure everything was perfect for the family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, and playing solitaire. Lucille and Marvin loved to travel. They visited all 50 states and 5 countries. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Marvin, sons: Gary (Lori) of Howells, Larry (Karen) of Lincoln, Dennis (Joyce) of Howells, Duane of Phoenix, AZ and Russell (Kathy) of Howells. 11 Grandchildren and 13 Great-grandchildren, one brother, Daniel (Alice) Tschantre of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law: John & Barbara(Vesely) Pickhinke, one grandson, Dustin Pickhinke, three sisters, JoAnn Molacek, Monica Pickhinke and Ann Marie Kassmeier.
