Lucille D. Curda, 87, of David City, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 10:00am in Assumption Catholic Church, Appleton, Ne. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be on Tuesday, from 3-7pm followed by a wake service/rosary all at Chermok Funeral Home; additional viewing will be on Wednesday, one hr before services at the church.

Lucille was born on April 20, 1921 on the farm near David City to William C. and Barbara(Kastner)Yindrick. She married Frank Curda on Nov. 28, 1944 in Assumption Catholic Church at Appleton, NE. For a short time she worked as a clerk at Schwesers Clothing Store. Her true occupation in life was as a dedicated homemaker who always had a meal ready for all the farm helpers and anyone else who was in the area at dinner time. She instituted the Angus Cattle herd on the farm and helped maintain that herd for over 55 years. Lucille belonged to the American Angus Cattle Association for many years. She also loved to maintain her rose garden from which she supplied floral arrangments to the church for many years. She was the church organist at Assumption Appleton for over 60 years.
She also enjoyed dancing, being outdoors tending the farm and livestock. Her special times included spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lucille is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Roger Svoboda of David City, two grandchildren: Carmen(Mike)Foltz of Humphrey and Ryan(Heidy)Svoboda of David City; six great-grandchildren: Tristen, Lance, Bryn and Evan Foltz; Calib and Sydni Svoboda.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank in 1999, one brother: Louis Yindrick and two sisters: Helen Svoboda and Alice Krondak.
