Louise “Blondie” Kovar, 81, of David City died Saturday May 28, 2011 at David Place in David City.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday June 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in David City with Fr. Bernard Kimminau as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM on Wednesday with a 6 PM PCCW Rosary at Chermok Funeral Home in David City.
Memorials have been suggested to the family in Louise’s name.
Louise Goosman Kovar was born on October 11, 1929 in Tecumseh, NE to Elzie and Julia (Kotony) Goosman. Blondie was a bookkeeper, Cub Scouts Den Mother, teacher’s aide as well as a nursing assistant at the David City Hospital for many years. Everyone who knew Blondie knew she loved her job and prided herself on caring for others. Everyone has a “When Blondie took care of me” story.
Blondie loved being around people and could always be found uptown socializing. She loved all animals, especially her cats. She had many hobbies and interests, which included Husker football, NASCAR racing, camping, road tripping, Red Hat Society, and had cherished memories and stories of Christmas shopping with the “girls.”
Blondie is survived by her daughter Nancy (Don) Theewen of David City, sons Doug (Sue) Kovar of Schuyler, Kenny (Tammy) Kovar of Rising City and Rick Kovar of Brainard;a sister Doreene Way of Ft. Collins, CO as well as 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers. She will now be able to join her beloved husband Rich in heaven to sit and enjoy eternity on God’s porch.
