Louis J. Humlicek was born October 1, 1929 on the family farm north of Abie, Nebraska to Anton G. and Rose (Ostry) Humlicek. He graduated from Assumption Catholic High School in Dwight, Nebraska. Louis farmed in the Abie area his entire life. He was a member of S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Abie, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the National Farmers Organization (N.F.O.) and the Abie Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, listening to Polka music, family get-togethers and visiting with friends and neighbors.
Louis is survived by two brothers: Bernard (Marcella) Humlicek of David City and Jerome (Marcy) Humlicek of Columbus; and 14 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leonard and one nephew.
