Funeral mass for 100 year old Lillian M. Mares, of Rogers, will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 5th at St Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at the Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel on Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM Parish rosary. Visitation on Saturday will be from 9:30 AM to 10:15 Am at the North Chapel. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery.
Lillian was born March 16, 1914 in the Midland Precinct of Colfax County to Charles and Antonia (Vesely) Cech where she attended rural school. Lillian and Stanley L. Mares were married at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Heun on February 7, 1933 and farmed in Colfax County. Lillian died April 2, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Schuyler where she had been a resident since September of 2005.
Lillian is survived by two sons, David of Rogers and Daryl (Claudine) of Schuyler; two grandchildren, Sharon Breese of Columbus and Jason (Hannah) Mares of Omaha; two great grandchildren, Jacob Breese and Morgan Mares.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley (4/15/1976); 3 brothers, Rudolph and Charles Cech and an infant brother.
