Leonard Homan

Leonard B. Homan, 96, of David City, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Msgr. Adrian Herbek officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday from 3-7pm followed by a parish wake and Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7pm all at Chermok Funeral Home.
Leonard was born February 11, 1912 to William and Marie (Vermuelen) Homan on a farm in the Marietta area. Leonard lived in the David City area his entire life, farming, rising cattle, watching football, enjoying his many dogs and cats and tinkering in his shop. He enjoyed playing card games. Leonard was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus, member of the Feeders Organization, served on the District 24 School Board, the Olive Township Board and was a field tech for ASCS.
Leonard married Catherine Bougger at St. Mary's Church in David City on January 30, 1940.
Leonard is survived by a son (Daniel) Sandy) Homan of David City; daughters: Rita (James) Aguilar) of Omaha, Eileen (William) Voboril of Bruno, Mary Lou (Michael) Zgud of Kearney; sister: Marie Bougger of Rising City; sister-in-law Hattie Bougger of Brainard; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Catherine in 1992; son: John; brothers: Willam and Wilfred Homan and sisters Alice klein and Helen Hilger.
Memorials may be given for Masses or to St. Joseph's Villa.
