Leona R. Janak, 89, of Brainard, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at South Haven Care Center in Wahoo.

Leona was born on December 23, 1927 to Max and Rosie(Kuhlanek)Dusatko on the farm near Brainard. She graduated from Brainard High School in 1945 and on May 10, 1948 she married Richard Janak at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Four children were born to this union.
Leona was homemaker and farm wife who loved to bake and garden, growing a large vegetable and flower garden. She enjoyed polka music, word puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the PCCW.
Leona is survived by her children: Dorene (Clayton) Kastl of Brainard, Linda Gates of David City, Lyle (Kathy) Janak of Brainard and Chris (Brenda) Janak of David City; 2 Sisters: Evelyn M. Dvorak of Brainard and Marvene Bruner of Columbus; 10 Grandchildren: Tracey Kastl-Jacobs, Todd Kastl, Mitchell, Natalie and Devon Janak, Josh and Justin Gates, Matthew, Michael, and Meagan Janak; 6 Great-grandchildren: Max, Mollie and Samuel Jacobs ,Kate, Bentley, and Easton Janak.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband:Richard in 2009 and one brother: Edwin Dusatko.
