Lenis Blum

Lenis was born June 11, 1916 in Stanton County to Jesse and Antonia (Spulak) Miller. She grew up and attended rural school in Stanton County. On September 6, 1940 she and William Paul Blum were married in Howells. Lenis worked in several bars and restaurants in Howells including Wagner Cafe, Frank Petricek's Bar, Howells Ballroom and Kate's Chicken Place. She managed the American Legion Club and was part owner of Blum's Bar from 1968 to 1980. Lenis was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed her garden, cooking and spending time with her family. Every day was a good day to Lenis. Lenis died August 12th at her home in Howells at the age of 95. Lenis is survived by her three sons, Roger Blum of Howells, Keith Blum of Euless, TX and Lynn (Jean) Blum of Howells; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Gewn Welch of Howells. She is preceded in death by her husband, William (1984); two sisters, Lela Spreen and Ena Litty; infant twin brothers. Family suggest memorial to St. John's School or St. John's School Elevator Fund.
