A Mass of Christian Burial for Lawrence J. “Larry” Juranek, 71, of David City, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Schuyler. Visitation will be at 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at Svoboda Funeral Home, North Chapel followed by a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue Tuesday 9:00 A.M. to 10:15 A.M. at the North Chapel. Burial will be in Schuyler Cemetery. Larry passed away Saturday September 6, 2014 in David City.
Larry was born October 12, 1942 in Columbus to Bedrick and Amelia (Jakub) Juranek. He graduated in 1959 from St. Mary’s High School and attended technical college to become an automotive technician. Larry was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church (Center), and a member of NRA. He was a farmer and enjoyed restoring tractors, collecting guns and coins, fishing, trap shooting, and taking many trips to Colorado. He especially enjoyed his grandkids.
Larry is survived by a son Daniel (Rhonda Mulholland) Juranek of Wahoo, daughter, Brenda (Brian) Corbett of Thornton, CO, daughter, Barbara (Jeffery) Vanek of Prague, son Scott (Tracy) Juranek of Nebraska City, daughter, Cathy (Mark) Verbeck of David City; grandchildren: Jonus Juranek, Joshua Corbett, Martina Corbett, Brittney Corbett, Seth Corbett, Brianne Corbett, Travis (Ashlie) Vanek, Amber (Jordon) Kavan, Brooke Vanek, Haley Vanek, Tanner Juranek, Courteney Juranek, Katelyn Holguin, Brittney Holguin, Arianna Holguin, Logan Verbeck, Kaila Verbeck, Sage Verbeck, Sierra Verbeck, and Aiden Verbeck, great grandchildren: Carter and Taylor Corbett, Bryson Vanek, Emma and Easton Kavan and Amora Romero; sister Marie “Jean” Phillips, nieces and nephews, and the mother of his children Patricia Comte.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Fredrick and granddaughter Morgan Vanek.
