LaVera "Vera" Burenheide, 83, of Howells, passed away June 7, 2019 at Parkview Home in Dodge.
Vera was born March 1, 1936 on the family farm in Cumming County to Ernest and Hildegard(Kluthe) Aschoff. She graduated from Howells High School in 1954. Vera was united in marriage to Norman Burenheide on January 18, 1955 at St. Henry's Church near Howells.
Vera worked in various places in both Howells and Clarkson over the years. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and Choir, the Howells Council of Catholic Women and was a member of the Howells and West Point Women's Auxiliary. Vera was an avid reader, was on a bowling team for many years and enjoyed going to compete at state bowling. She liked to play cards, Bingo and to go to the casino's with her friends. Vera enjoyed time with her family and was the type of person who could talk to a stranger and make a new friend.
She is survived by her daughters: Terri Belina of Howells, and Carol(Dave) Liekhus, of Howells; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers: Jerry(Betty) Aschoff, of Parker, CO, Tom(Diane) Aschoff, of Howells; sister: Antonella Luebbert, of Naperville, IL; sister-in-law: Doris Kluthe, of Cairo, NE; and several nieces and nephews.
Vera is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Norman, in 1977; parent-in-laws: Ben(Amanda) Burenheide; son-in-law: Rich Belina; and brothers-in-law: Eldon Kluthe and Marvin Luebbert.
