Laura Fritz, 96, of David City, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at David Place in David City. Graveside Services will be held at 9:30 am Monday, September 8, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in rural Rising City. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 8 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in David City.
Laura was born in rural Rising City to John and Louisa (Kuhl) Schroeder on May 29, 1912. She lived in the Rising City, David City area most of her life. Laura graduated from York High School and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for one year. She worked as a secretary and later for a gas company. Laura married Robert A. Fritz on May 9, 1949 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rising City. They owned the Cozy Lunch Cafe for 25 years.
Laura is survived by a daughter Diane (Dennis) Van Horn of Peyton, CO.; step-daughter Cheryl (Dave) Lighting of Lady Lake, FL; brother: LaVern (Lila) Schroeder of Rising City; grandchildren: Corie Layton, Kayla Van Horn, Heather Cox and Dustin Van Horn and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 1968, and brothers Sylvester and Wilbur and sister, Renata.
Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church in David City.
