Kenneth L. Hofpar, 53, of Dwight, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Memorial Hospital in Seward, Nebraska.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, July 7, 2009, 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard with Fr. Matthew Eickhoff officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Brainard. Viewing will be Monday, July 6, from 2-5pm at Holesovsky Mortuary in Brainard and from 6-7 at the church followed by a 7pm rosary also at church. Additional viewing will be on Tuesday, one hr before services at the church.
Mr. Hofpar was born on February 14, 1956 in David City to John and Rosalyn(Hula)Hofpar. He attended East Butler High School, graduating in 1974. He went on to receive his Associates Degree from Milford. He was a rural mail carrier and farmer.
Ken was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. He recently joined the Knights of Columbus Council 8889 in Brainard. A big part of his life was dedicated to American Legion Baseball. He coached Dwight and Brainard teams for many years. He was also a past member of the East Butler School Board for many years. He enjoyed going to family gatherings, spending time with his wife, children and grandson, watching sports, especially baseball and doing carpentry work. He was also a trumpet player in the Policky Orchestra for many years.
Ken is survived by his wife: LuAnn; his son Michael of Omaha; two daughters: Laura(Craig)Meysenburg and Linda Hofpar both of Lincoln; his mother: Rosalyn Hofpar of David City; two sisters: Diane(Doug)White and Janet(Larry)Timoney both of Ulysses; one grandson: Colin Meysenburg.
He was preceded in death by his father; three infant brothers, and one infant niece.
