Keith Lunde, 78, of David City, passed away April 28, 2016 at Select Specialties Hospital in Omaha.

Keith A. Lunde was born on September 18, 1937 to Otto and Alice (Mythen) Lunde at Monona, Iowa. After high school graduation, he attended Northern Colorado University and completed his Master of Arts degree in 1962. He went on to earn credits from several other universities throughout his lifetime.
Keith taught in public schools in Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska until he began teaching music at Platte College in Columbus. Over his career, his choral groups performed for two Nebraska governors and a vice-president. He was also a member of the Nebraska Bandmasters Association in which his band and chorus groups performed. He remained at the college as music director for over 18 years until his retirement in 1998. Keith directed the Community College Community Band and the Central Community College Jazz Band, and led the Touch of Brass-Brass Choir and the bell choir at St. John’s Lutheran Church. He also raised horses, mostly Morgans, and was inducted into the Senior Morgan Breeder’s Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his son, Matthew and daughter, Bernita both of Bellwood, one sister, Lucille (Roger) Hackbart of Golden Valley, MN, nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, DuWayne Lunde.
