Karen Patricia Cooper, 74, formerly of Schuyler, passed away Sunday, August 2nd at the Central City Care Center in Central City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday August 7th at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Schuyler. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Parish Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at the Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery (rural North Bend).
Karen was born June 1, 1941 in Flandreau, SD to Francis and Maurine (Gust) Alberts. She graduated from Flandreau High School in 1960. In September of 1960, Karen married Jerome Charles Harvison in Anacortes, Washington. On November 1, 1969, she married Eber Cooper in Pipestone, MN. Karen was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She loved music, singing and old classic movies.
Karen is survived by daughters Susan (Joe) Heavican of Rogers, NE, Leesa (Tim) Richtig of Crete, NE, sons Dan (Trinh) Cooper of San Diego, CA, and John Cooper of Columbus, NE; sisters Glenda Neal of Rapid City, SD, Kathy (Robert) Bothwell of Huron, SD and Jean (Alan) Larson of Flandreau, SD; 8 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother Dean Alberts and sister Audrey Flanagan.
