Joyce Ann Holeka, 63, of David City, passed away on July 10, 2013 at the Butler County Health Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 15, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Bernard Kimminau officiating. Closed casket visitation will be Sunday from 5:30 until 6:30pm at the church with a 6:30pm Rosary service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Joyce Ann Holeka was born January 4, 1950 to Floyd and Pearl (Bowman) Pence in Norton, Kansas. On April 1, 1967 Joyce was united in marriage to James Holeka in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska. Two children were born to this union.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a member of the PCCW. Joyce enjoyed her Red Hat Ladies, fishing, gardening, canning, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a daycare provider in the David City area for over 25 years.
Joyce is survived by her son: Jeff Holeka of Bellvue; daughter: Tammy (Michael) Pflum of David City; brothers: Kenny Pence, Dean Pence, Carl Pence, George Pence, Raymond Pence, and Bob Pence; sisters: Alice Gutherie, Frances Bell, Kathy Vidlak, Edith May Fletcher, and Linda Ann Allen; grandchildren: Jaden Pflum, Katie Pflum, Kody Apodac, Kelsey Apodac, Trenten Holeka, Alex Holeka, and Isaac Pugsley; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband James in 2011; brothers: Junior, Melvin, and Jim Pence.
