Josephine Coufal

Josephine Coufal, 94, of Lincoln, formerly of the Bruno area, died Tuesday, July 31 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln. Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, August 4 at Chermok Funeral Home in David City. Inurnment will be in the Bruno National Cemetery. No visitation or viewing.
Josephine was born on Jan. 3, 1913 to John and Theresa(Rerucha)Fencl on the farm near Bruno. She met and married Leonard E. Coufal on Feb. 6, 1934 in David City. They lived in the Butler County area most of their married lives until his death in 2002. Josephine moved to Lincoln to be near her children and lived there until her death this past Tuesday.
She is survived by her Son and daughter-in-law: Delano and Beth Coufal and her daughter and fiance: Linda Childs and Robert Brehm all of Lincoln. She has one grandson: Jacob Coufal. She is also survived by her brother: William Fencl of David City, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers: Adolph, John, Ed and Anton Fencl; and two sisters: Tillie Simanek and Gustie Svoboda.
