Joseph J. Vrbka, 95, of David City, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007 at St. Joseph's Court, David City. Funeral Services will be Monday, February 19, 2007, 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Church, Ulysses with burial in the church cemetery. Viewing will be on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007 from 4-7pm at St. Mary's Church followed by a 7pm rosary also at the church. Additional viewing will be on Monday, Feb. 19 beginning at 9am at Immaculate Conception Church, Ulysses. Memorials may be given in care of the family.
Joseph J. Vrbka was born on October 4, 1911 near Weston, NE to Edward and Mary Ann (Krenk) Vrbka. He married Rose Polacek on Dec. 30, 1940 at St. Anthony's Church in Bruno. He served briefly in the US Army remaining stateside. They also lived in the Colorado, and settled in Nebraska. Joe spent most of his early life farming but he also held many jobs including custodial work in various places.
He is survived by his sons: Roland(Carol) of Valparaiso, Ray(JoAnn) of Firth; Daughters: Therese(Larry) Bouc of Ceresco; Judy(Pat)Osmera of Ulysses. 13 Grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents;infant son Donald; 3 brothers; 6 sisters.
