Joseph J. Reisdorff, 72, of David City, died Monday, December, 24, 2007 at St. Joseph's Villa.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church, David City. Viewing will be from 2-5PM at Chermok Funeral Home and from 6-7 at St. Mary's Church followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary also at the church. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Joe was born on Dec. 23, 1935 on the farm near David City to Earl and Agnes(Kozisek) Reisdorff. He attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from David City High School in 1954. He farmed most of his life, and also worked part time at Home and Appliance in David City. On April 12, 1958, he married Sharon Ebel at St. Joseph's Church, rural Bellwood. Joe was a member of St. Mary's Church in David City, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus; past member of the NFO; Olive Township Board, St. Mary's Parish Council, Farmers CO-OP Board; he was also an apprasier for the ASCS Office. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a handyman, building and creating many things as well as fixing the broken things his children and grandchildren would bring to him. He loved to travel, going to sales and was a practical joker, always ready with a joke or witty comeback.
Survivors include: his wife Sharon; Sons: Dan(Leta) and Tom(Kelly) both of David City; Daughters: Deb(Gary)Dinkelman of David City and Janet(Jeff) Buman of Harlan, Iowa. One sister: Clara (Herman) Dvorak of Dodge, NE: 18 Grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, Bernard.
