Joseph L. Frahm, 82, of David City, died Friday, December 9, 2016 at his residence near David City.

Joseph L. Frahm was born on March 12, 1934 to Joseph W. and Frances (Jelinek) Frahm at Brainard, Nebraska.. He attended grade school in the Brainard area and graduated from Brainard High School. After graduation, he farmed and then entered the United States Army, serving in Korea.
On August 25, 1960, he was united in marriage to Patricia Bougger at St. Francis Church. They had five children. The family lived in Bee, Nebraska area before moving to the David City area where Joseph farmed until he retired.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where he served on the church board and was an acolyte. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and served on the rural volunteer fire board. He served on the board of the Farmer's Elevator in Bee, NE and Frontier in Brainard.
Joseph loved the land. Once retired, he turned his energy to gardening and his lawn. He was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and sports. Most of all, he loved and was adored by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughters: Betsy (Joe) From, Karen Mauro, Marian Lea Frahm all of Omaha, Jody (Kris) Faris of Gretna, and son, Gerald (Bonnie) Frahm of Omaha, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Larry Mauro, brother and sister-in-law: John (Hilda) Frahm and sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret (Richard) Nick, Alice Janecek, Helen (Ray) Matulka and Mary Ann Frahm.
He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with full military honors in the Omaha National Veteran's Cemetery.
