John A. Kment

John was born May 8, 1910 in Colfax County to John and Anna (Sloup) Kment. He attended rural school at Districts #11 and #8. He was a long time farmer in Colfax County. On September 17, 1935 he married Agnes Hozak at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Schuyler. John loved farming, even though he lost his right hand in a farm accident at the age of 29, and he enjoyed attending and participating in Tractors Pulls. He was very active into his upper nineties and was always willing to help others in any way he could. John died November 9, 2010,at the age of 100, at the Golden Living Center in Schuyler where he had been a resident for the last two years. John is survived by one grandson, Daren Kment of Grand Island and one sister Sylvia Slavik of North Bend. He is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes (March 16, 1993) and their son, John D. Kment (Match 17, 2003).
