Jodie Howser, 62, of Rising City, died Monday, March 2, 2009 in Columbus.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 5th at 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Rising City. The family will greet friends from 6:30 - 8:30 pm Wednesday, March 4th at the Chermok Funeral Home in David City.
Jodie was born May 5, 1946 in Darby, Pennsylvania to Frank and laura Stanton. Jodie married Gary D. Howser on October 16, 1974 in Yankton, South Dakota. Jodie and Gary were foster parents for more than 30 years to dozens of children. She loved cooking, catering, and taking care of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
Jodie is survived by her husband, Gary D. Howser, Sr. of Rising City; daughters: Dorene (Michael) Spies of Grand Island, George Ann (Jeff) Williams of Grand Island, Naomi (Mike) Morales of Hot Springs, SD, Fronia Miller of Lincoln, Emily Louizou-Howser of Kansas City, MO, Honey Booth of Albion, NE, and Racheal Howser of Rising City; sons: John (Darlene) Garecht of New Jersey, Gary Howser, Jr. of Omaha, Fred (Katie) Miller of Lincoln, and Teylor Howser of Rising City; grandchildren: Logan, Alissa, Jaedyn, Levi (Jessica), Dillon, Dalton, Jesse, Austin, Colton, Emerson, Cassie Jo, Stetson, Sage, and Ty; and great grandsons: Hayden, Hunter and Holten.
Jodie was preceded in death by her father, Frank Stanton, mother and stepfather, Laura and George Hahn, Sr; and step-brother, George Hahn, Jr.
Cremation - no viewing. Inurnment will be at a later date.
