Joan A. Brichacek, 73, of Ft. Myers, Florida passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 17th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Heun (rural Clarkson). A Wake Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday (4/16/17) at Holy Trinity (Heun). Burial will be at 1:30 P.M. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Dodge.
Joan was born on October 29, 1941 on a farm near Dodge to Fred and Mary (Evert) Pieper. She graduated from Howells High School in 1960. On September 8, 1960, Joan married George Brichacek at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tabor. She was a farmer’s wife, owned her own catering company, was a bank customer service representative, and ran the “55 or Better Club” for First National Bank, Schuyler. Joan enjoyed raising her family and volunteering at the Southwest International Airport in Ft. Myers Florida airport. She was a real “people person”.
Joan is survived by her husband, George, of Ft. Myers, FL; children: Russell (Janell) Brichacek of Omaha, Susan (Duane) Mundt of Lincoln, John (Kris) Brichacek of Waterloo, NE, Jim (Judy) Brichacek of Lincoln and Bill Brichacek of Omaha; 13 grandchildren; brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, sons Gerald and Tom, grandchild Taylor, infant brother, and brothers-in-law.
