James "Jim" Louis Woita was born on June 3, 1960 in David City to Louis and Lorene (Jambor) Woita. He graduated from Aquinas High School. Jim worked various jobs until he got on with the Union Pacific Railroad gandy dancing all over the western USA. At the age of 30, Jim was paralyzed in a sledding accident. Jim returned to school and got a degree. He worked as a counselor at Lincoln Action Program. Jim was very determined to keep an independent lifestyle, perhaps even stubborn at times. Dancing, spinning around and popping wheelies at Zoo Bar. He never missed "The Winter Campout" with The Hawk and friends. Jim really enjoyed the Wilbur Czech Festival. Jim's favorite hobby was silversmithing. He enjoyed creating each piece of jewelry and giving it to close friends and family. He also traveled around selling pieces at various sales. His parents were his best friends and after their passing it left a big "voida" in his life, yah.

Jim is survived by his siblings, Kathryn (Doug) Jones of David City, Barbara (Bob) Goodman, of Overland Park, Kansas, Patricia (Bill) Westlund of Lincoln, Mary (Doug) Roberts of Lincoln, Paul (Bridget) Woita of Lincoln, and his twin brother John Woita of Lincoln, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lorene Woita and sister-in-law Susan Kennedy Woita .
