Jessica Fiala, 33, of David City, passed away on August 16, 2014 in a car accident on the edge of David City.
Jessica was born December 6, 1980 to David Calhoon and Mary (Dall) Evans in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Jessica went on to get her Associates Degree in Accounting from Vatterott College, and worked for Omaha Public Schools for 6 years until meeting Luke and moving to David City. After moving to David City, she worked at Thomas Grubaugh CPA in Columbus. Jessica married Luke Fiala on February 14, 2014, in Omaha.
She enjoyed taking pictures and creating photobooks. Jessica was a huge Minnesota Vikings fan, and was a great cook. Her favorite quote was: "All your dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them" ~ Walt Disney.
Jessica is survived by her husband: Luke Fiala; parents: David Calhoon and Mary Evans; children: William Macken of David City, Charlies Covert of David City, Rose Ptacek of Plattsmouth, Anastasia Macken of Plattsmouth, and stepdaughter Brooke Fiala of Washington; siblings: Sarah (Chris) Broderson, Heather Calhoon, Branden Calhoon, Josh Stevenson, Eric Penniston, Bryahna McKenzie, and Tyler McKenzie; grandmother: Kathleen Macken; stepgrandparents: Larry (Carlynn) Kurtz; aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sister: Raychile Mckenzie; stepson: Drew Fiala; and grandfather: Dennis Dall.
