Janice Struebing

August 5, 1936 — July 27, 2007

Janice Struebing, 70, of David City, Nebraska, passed away Friday, July 27, 2007 at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City, Nebraska. Services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, July 30 at the Faith Evangelilcal Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Faith East Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 pm Sunday at the Chermok Funeral Home in David City.
Janice was born on August 5, 1936 to Rudolph and Hulda (Suhr) Neujahr. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and taught home economics at Deshler, David City and Rising City. She later was employed as a seamstress. On Jan. 20, 1963 she married Donald D. Streubing at St. Paul's Church in Gresham. Janice was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rising City, a 4-H Leader, Happy Homemakers Extension Club, Superintendent of the Open Class Arts and Crafts at the Butler County Fair, member of ADK, Red Hat Society, Bridge and Card Clubs, American Cancer Society and Chairman of the Relay for Life. She had a lifelong love of cooking and sewing.
Survivors include Husband: Donald D. Streubing of David City, sons: David Struebing of David City and Daryl (Dawn) Streubing of Columbus, daughter: Janae (Steve) Lant of Lincoln, brothers: Ray (Bernita) Neujahrof Waverly and Eldon (Emily) Neujahr of Liberty, NE; sister: Opal Schletche of Aurora, NE; sister-in-law: Pat Neujahr of Valentine and 2 grandchildren. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Millie Neimann and brother Orville Neujahr.
