Janice Kay Matchett

Janice Kay Matchett passed away on December 3, 2024 at St. Joseph's Villa.  

The family has chosen to have private services at a later date. 

Janice was born December 18, 1947 to Gerald and Olive Marie(Brown) Leininger in Kirbyville, Missouri.  They moved to Nebraska where she graduated from Grand Island High School, then got her Associates Degree in Legal Terminology.  On May 15, 1970 she was united in marriage to Merrill Matchett in Albion, Nebraska.  

She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and rescuing all types of animals. 

Janice is survived by her sons: Ben (Donita) Matchett of O'Neill, NE, Timothy Matchett of Abie, NE, Merrill (Sue) Matchett of Linwood, NE, Robert Matchett of Boone, NE, and John (Lori) Matchett of Abie, NE; brother: Lee Leininger of Idaho; brother-in-law: Dann (Terry) Matchett of St. Edward, NE; 13 grandchildren: Crissie (Jeff), Jessica, Ann, Glen, Sara, Trinity(Jeremy), Amanda(Jeremiah), Maggie, Kandice, Megan, Kaydence, Benjamin and John; and 16 great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Sophia, Jayden, Topanga, Madeline, Lincoln, Nathaniel, Jeremy, Damon, Noel, Trevor, Drake, Rayne, Tyler and Tyson. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Merrill who passed away in September 2023, brother: Jay Leininger and sister: Judy Faulkner.
