James M. Pflum, 80, of David City died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at david place in David City.
James Michael Pflum was born on May 6, 1935 in Imperial, Nebraska to Roger and Teresa(O'Brien)Pflum. He lived and worked on the farm south of Enders, Nebraska. Jim attended elementary school at Enders and then on to St. Patrick's Catholic Boarding School at Sydney, Nebraska where he graduated from High School. He went on to college for one year at Regis Catholic College in Denver and then transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated with a degree in soil science. Jim married Rose Kadavy on January 30, 1956 at Weston, Nebraska. They returned to the farm in Enders, where 16 children were born to them. The first 6 children were raised, attended school and graduated high school from Imperial, Nebraska and the last 10 graduated high school in David City, Nebraska.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Rose Pflum, children: Mary(Lon)Malmkar, Michael Pflum, Catie Pflum, Anne(Jack)Strain, Linda(Rod)Bohlender, Diane(Mike)Stittle, Patrick Pflum, Jean(Anthony)Miranda, Chris(Jon)Karn, Mark(Brenda)Pflum, Angela(Enrique)Gutierrez, Brian Pflum, Scott(Heather)Pflum, Denise(Brian)Eddy and Eric(Coren)Pflum, son-in-law: PJ Pajerski,
numerous grandchildren and over 20 great-grandchildren., one brother: Roger Pflum, five sisters: Pat Barun, Marilyn Rider, Vange Balik, Rosemary Hackett and Rita(FJ)Schroeder.
Several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Carla Pajerski
