James was born September 19, 1918 in Stanton County, Nebraska to James and Helen (Urbanek) Molacek. He attended District 40 in Stanton County through the 8th grade. He was in the Civilian Conservation Corps. from 1933 - 1941. James served in the U.S. Army from December 1941 until September 1945. During that time he served in the Pacific Theater and the Asiatic Pacific Theater. On September 14, 1948, James married Erma Schmid at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Schuyler. He was a mechanic at Reinecke’s Ford. James was a member of St. Mary’s (Divine Mercy Parish), the V.F.W. and American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He served as an acolyte for funerals for 15 years, was a Rosary leader, belonged to the Czech Singers, enjoyed dancing polkas and waltzes and was interested in gardening and fixing electrical appliances.
James is survived by his wife Erma, of Omaha, sons: Ken and wife Vicki of Omaha, David and wife Donna of Omaha, daughter: Susan Cutshall and husband Joseph of Omaha; granddaughters: Julie Molacek of Omaha and Kristin Cutshall of Orlando, Florida; grandsons Jason Cutshall and wife Laura of Quantico, VA, Michael Cutshall of Kansas City, MO, and Derek Molacek of Lincoln, NE; great grandsons James and Nathan Cutshall; sisters Ludmilla Kracl of Schuyler, Camilla Steinberger of Lincoln and Marlene Gray of Texas; brother Gilbert Molacek of Omaha; and nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society, St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Omaha, St. Joseph Villa Hospice Care in Omaha and Divine Mercy Parish in Schuyler.
