91 year old James F. Kucera died October 4th at his farm home. James was born March 8, 1920 on the family farm to James R. and Emma (Beran) Kucera. He attended District 27 School in rural Howells. James lived in the family home and farmed there his entire life. He was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Tabor (rural Howells) until that church closed and then became a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells. He was a member of the Catholic Workmen Lodge. He enjoyed the farm, reading and being outdoors. James is survived by a sister, Mildred Scanlon, of Schuyler; niece Carol (Russ) Reha of Schuyler; great nephews, Chris (Katrina) Reha of Lincoln, Curt (Lacey) Reha of Lincoln, Cole (Channing) Reha of Omaha, Craig Reha of Omaha and a great great nephew Kyler Reha of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Edward G. Scanlon. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (at Tabor) rural Howells. The family suggests memorials to Family Wishes or Masses.
