James E, "Jim" Holeka, 67, of David City died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Bryan/LGH West in Lincoln.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:30 pm Thursday January 20 at Chermok Funeral Home and resume at 5:30 at St. Mary's Church. The Rosary will be at 6:30 pm at the Church.
Visitation will continue on Friday one hour before the service at the Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in David City.
Jim was born on August 5, 1943 in David City to Joseph and Emma (Palik) Holeka. He attended country school. On April 1, 1967, Jim married Joyce Pence in Beaver Crossing. To this union two children were born.
Jim worked for Cargill in Schuyler. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. He enjoyed playing with his grandkids, working in his yard and in his garage.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce, of David City; son, Jeff, of Omaha; daughter, Tammy (Michael) Pflum of David City; brother, Kenny (Sharon) Holeka of Seward; sisters, Joan Varner of Seward and Lucille Wynegar of Ulysses; and grandchildren, Jaden and Katie Ann Pflum of David City, Kelsey Apodac of Columbus, Kody Apodac of David City, Trenten Holeka and Alex Holeka of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lawrence Holeka and sister, Rosalie Holeka.
