Hugh Bartlett

Hugh Russell Bartlett, 80, of David City passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Butler County Health Care Center in David City. Sevices will be Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at 10:00am at Chermok Funeral Home in David City. Burial will be in the David City Cemetery. Viewing will be on Monday from 4-7pm. Memorials in care of the family.
Hugh R. Bartlett was born on July 22, 1926, at Sorgho, Daviess County, Kentucky to Roscoe and Annie Bernice (Hust) Bartlett. He married Dorothy Kovar on Nov. 27, 1950, while on duty at Hastings, Nebraska. He was a two year veteran of the Navy, and a 18 yr veteran of the United States Marine Corp, until his retirement in 1963. He proudly worked 29 years as a laborer for Hughes Brothers Inc., of Seward, Nebraska until his retirement in 1993. After retirement he worked for Larry Miley, at Miley Motors of David City, until the death of his wife in 2000.
He is survived by his son: Bill Bartlett of David City and special friend: Cindy Prochaska of Dwight. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, and his sister, Colleen Silbereisen.
