Herman Kutka, 85, of Brainard passed away on January 18 at David Place in David City.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, January 22 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard with Father Matthew Eickhoff officiating. Viewing will be Tuesday at 9:00am at the church followed by a Rosary at 9:30am at the church.
Herman was born January 14, 1928 to James and Caroline(Pospisil) Kutka on a farm in rural Butler County. He attended a rural country school near Loma. He was a member of the United States Navy from 1946-1948.
Until retirement, Herman worked for Sun Oil Company. There he worked on engines of ships that transported oil to different parts of the country. He enjoyed watching football, reading, and helping out on the farm.
He is survived by his brother Emil (Kathy) Kutka of Topeka, KS his sister Betty (Bill) Niemeyer of Naperville, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Herman is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Rose Kotlas and Adeline Krov.
