Helen West, 76, of Bellwood, died Friday, October 6 at Butler County Health Care Center in David City. Funeral Services will be Monday, October 9, 2006 at 11:00am at United Methodist Church, Bellwood with Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Interment will follow at Bellwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-7pm at Chermok Funeral Home and on Monday, from 10-11am at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made in care of the family. Helen West is survived by: Husband: James; one son: Norman(Linda) West of Lincoln; one daughter: Diane(Russel)Stricklin of Morse Bluff, NE; one brother: Joe Sloup of Rising City; Sisters: Mary(Alton) Lulow of Raton, N.M; Anne Woolsey and Darlene Shippen both of Friend; Beverly Deiryer of Fremont; She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Rose Gaskill and Emily Nordmeyer and one brother: Edward Sloup. Helen was born Sept. 19, 1930 at Verdel, Nebraska the daughter of Emil and Anna Hladky Sloup. She was a homemaker and a 50 yr member of the United Methodist Church.
