Helen M. Riha, 98, of David City, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, December 17, 2010 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church, David City with Fr. Bernard Kimminau Officiating.
Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery
Viewing: Thursday 3-7pm at Chermok Funeral Home; followed by a 7pm PCCW Rosary also at the funeral home: Friday: one hour before services at the church.
Memorials may be given In Care of the Family.
Helen M. Aerts was born on May 27, 1912 to Frank and Mae(Theewen)Aerts on the farm near St. Francis(Center)Church.  She married William Riha on May 27, 1934 at St. Francis Church(Center).  They lived in the Butler County Area all of their married lives. Five children were born to this union.
Helen was a member of St. Mary's Church and the PCCW.  She was also involved with the St. Joseph's Villa Quilters.  She was a NASCAR fan and especially loved Jeff Gordon.  She also loved Nebraska Football, gardening, canning, and being with family.
She is survived by her Sons: William(Mary Jane)Riha of Seward; Ron Riha of Emmetsburg, Iowa; Daughters:Betty Jane Wachal of Schuyler and Bonnie Riha of David City; one brother: Frank(MaryAnn)Aerts of Columbus and one sister: Darlene(Leonard)Darnell of Brownsdale, MN. 13 Grandchildren   36 Great-grandchildren   13 Great-great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William in 1992; infant daugther: Connie; son-in-law: Edward R. Wachal; four brothers: James, Ted, Bill and Leo Aerts; four sisters: Cecilia Svoboda; Elizabeth Kosch; Dorothy Samek; and Henrietta Hladky.
