Helen Focher, 99, of David City, died Monday, May 19, 2014 at david place in David City.
Helen was born on March 6, 1915 at Bruno, Nebraska to Anton and Adeline "Adela" (Pokorny)Dolezal. She attended Bruno school. On August 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Edward Focher at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Bruno and one child was born to this union.
Helen and Edward lived on the farm near Bruno until 1973, when they moved to David City. Edward passed away in 1996. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the PCCW. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, raising a large flower garden, and baking, with her specialty being kolache and strudel. Helen and Ed loved to listen to polka music and would travel to attend dances. She also raised many chicken and ducks throughout her lifetime. Her faith and family were the most important things in her life.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Sharon Woolsey of Ulysses, three grandchildren: Andrea(Rod)Stanek, Chris(Michelle)Woolsey and Todd(Breanne)Woolsey. Six great-grandchildren: Hailey, Hannah and Reese Woolsey; Dalton Stanek, Nevaeh Phelps and Kinley Woolsey. Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ed, her son-in-law: Steve Woolsey, and two brothers: Vladimir and Louis Dolezal.
