Helen Dobrusky 100, Lincoln, formerly of Dwight, died Tuesday (3-10-09). Born (10-2-1908) near Bruno, NE the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Nekuda) Bushek. She worked as a part-time switchboard telephone operator and nanny in Dwight. After marrying James in 1928, they owned the Dwight Flour Mills and grocery store. They moved to Lincoln in 1954, and she was a cook for several Havelock cafes until she retired.
Visitation: One hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (3/14/09) at Roper & Sons Chapel, 4300 "O" Street with Father Tom Maclean officiating.
Family Gathering: One hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Cemetery: Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Brainard, Nebraska with Father Matthew Eickhoff officiating.
Memorials: To the family for future designation or donor's choice.
Survivors are daughters, sons-in-law: Helen and Donald Ptacek, Janette and Arnold Makovicka, Lincoln; grandchildren, spouses: David and Laurie Ptacek, Sterling, NE, Daniel Ptacek, Lincoln, Theresa and David Ganow, State College, PA, Lisa and Troy Hottovy, Waterloo, NE, Debra Renfro, Sandra and Jeffrey Carstens, Alan and Janelle Makovicka, Brian and Lynda Makovicka all of Lincoln; great grandchildren: Rachel and Timothy Ptacek, Jeremy and Miranda Renfro, Nicholas and Cathy Ganow, Kyle and Shawn Ganow, Matthew, Mitchel, Noah and Joshua Makovicka, Ashton and Madison Makovicka, Ali, Connor, Tyler and Ethan Carstens, Hunter, Courtney, Peyton and Parker Hottovy; 2 great great grandchildren: Dylan and Kayli Renfro.
She was preceded in death by husband James, 1 brother Raymond Bushek, 4 sisters: Agnes Rejda, Libby Chermok, Georgia Korinek and Irene Luebbe.
