Harley F. Kost, 93, of Seward, formerly of Brainard, died Friday, April 27, 2018 at Ridgewood in Seward.

Immediately following the interment, the funeral lunch will be held at the Dwight Legion Hall.
Harley was born on October 11, 1924 to Fred F. and Marie (Schoppert)Kost at Clayton, South Dakota. He entered the U.S. Navy at age 19 and served during WW II. After his discharge, he married Mary E. Goodel on July 11, 1948 at Sioux Falls, SD. Six children were born to this union. They lived in Freeman, SD and then moved to Brainard in the 1960's during the time the missile construction plant was in operation.
Harley worked at Omaha Operators Union until his retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Brainard and the Dwight Legion. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, lawn care and loved to read, especially western books. He enjoyed time with his family and friends.
Harley is survived by his sons: Fred Kost and Chuck (Mary Kaye) Kost both of Lincoln, Daniel and Don (Deb) Kost both of Brainard, Daughters: Sally Tesina of Dwight and Kathy (Dwayne) Pelan of Brainard. 16 Grandchildren and 30 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary in 2014, grandson: Daniel Kost Jr, infant granddaughter: Melinda Kost, three brothers and four sisters.
