Gladys M. Jakub, 89, of David City died Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.

Gladys was born on July 7, 1928 in Loma, Nebraska to John and Mary (Divis) Sisel. She attended country school by Loma and graduated from Brainard High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Leonard “Lindy” Jakub on April 26, 1948 at St. Luke’s Church in Loma.
Their marriage was blessed with five children. Gladys worked at Elgin Watch Company in Lincoln and also at Hinky Dinky for 30 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Lincoln until moving to St. Joseph’s Court in David City in 2014. She was a current member of St. Mary’s Church.
She loved to travel to Las Vegas, play bingo and do word search and crossword puzzles.
Gladys is survived by her children: James(Margie)Jakub of Lincoln, Gerald (Theresa) Jakub of Linwood, Denise(Robert)Cook of Marshalltown, Iowa and Donna Bescheinen of Evans, CO, brother, Leonard(Edith)Sisel of Dwight and sister, Irene(James)Vrbka of Bossier City, LA, sister-in-law: Sally Sisel of David City, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lindy in 2007, daughter, Deanne in 2006, two brothers, Ray and Louis Sisel, one sister, Elsie and son-in-law, Terry Bescheinen.
