Gladys M. Beard-Talcott, 92, passed away June 5, 2015 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
No viewing or visitation as Gladys has chosen cremation.

Gladys Mae Shimerka was born on December 29, 1922 at Abie, Nebraska to James and Mary(Roubal)Shimerka. She attended public school in Abie through the 11th grade and transferred to David City High School to graduate in 1941.
In 1954, she married Charles L. Beard and was widowed on Dec. 24, 1977. She later married Vernon Talcott in 1979, who passed away on Jan. 3, 1981.
Gladys lived most of her life in the Kansas City and Omaha areas. She worked as a secretary for the Graves Trucking Company until her retirement.
She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, shopping and feeding the birds and squirrels from her patio area. She was an avid dancer and enjoyed traveling to the local dance halls for her favorite past time.
Gladys is survived by her sister-in-law, Letha Shimerka and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Libbie Kopecky, Vlasta Smith, and Lucille Grebenick,and one brother: Donald Shimerka.
