George Behne, 88, formerly of Brainard, passed away on October 7, 2013, at his home in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.
A funeral service will be Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Holesovsky Mortuary in Brainard with Father Matthew Eickhoff officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials have been suggested to Holy Trinity Catholic Choice or to the Donor's Choice.
George J. Behne was born near Brainard, Nebraska on April 22, 1925 to George and Mary (Liska) Behne. He attended school at district #78 and graduated from Dwight High School in 1942. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. For 42 years, George was employed by the Federal Government as a Personnel and Financial Administrator. After 11 years in Japan, he was transferred to Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife: Doris Chun-Behne; brothers and sister-in-laws: Donald and Martha (Zavodny) Behne of Brainard, Dean Behne of DeWitt, and Genevieve (Vrbka) Behne of Brainard; and many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Ernest Behne; and sister-in-law: Mavis (Synovec) Behne.
