Gary L. Remmers

Gary Lee Remmers, age 80, was called by the Lord to his heavenly home on December 17, 2021.

Memorials can be directed to Family Wishes for later designation.

With the ever growing concern of COVID, Gary's family please asks that those attending the services please wear a face mask to help limit the further spread of COVID.

Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Kevin Stellick at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 Hamilton Street, Rising City, Nebraska at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 21, 2021. There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am. at the church. Committal is at at Faith East, rural Garrison and will follow a brief luncheon at the church.

Gary was born in David City, Nebraska on October 14, 1941 to Martin and Elda Remmers. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Garrison, Nebraska, and was a lifetime member even as Faith and Zion merged. Gary resided on the family farm until moving to David City in 1974. Gary was interested in numismatics and was an avid fan of anything “John Deere”, especially their miniature model tractors. He loved farm life and animals of any kind seemed drawn to him by his kind and gentle spirit. Gary worked at Henningsens Foods in David City for many years before retiring.

Gary is survived by three brothers, Gene (Cecile), Roger, Kenneth and two sisters, Linda and Ruth (Maynard) and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, sister Betty, and brother Martin Jr.
