Fred F. Samek, age 86 of David City, died Friday February 3, 2012 at David Place in David City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday February 7, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Bernard Kimminau as celebrant. Interment will follow at Appleton Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 PM on Monday at Chermok Funeral Home and will resume after 6 PM at the church with a 7 PM Knights of Columbus Rosary. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.
Memorials have been suggested to Masses or Assumption Catholic Church at Appleton.
Fred was born to Adolph and Antonia (Svoboda) Samek on May 22, 1925 on the family farm near Appleton. He was a lifetime farmer and resident of Butler County. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church at Appleton and Knights of Columbus Council #1717 of David City.
Survivors: brother-in-law: John Rerucha; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill and Anton Samek; sisters Martha Piitz, Anna Rerucha,and Rose Kozisek.
