Frances A. Sunday, 80, of David City, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 at David Place in David City. Services will be 10:00am Monday, February 19, 2007 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, David City, with the Rev. David Palomaki officiating. Burial will be in the David City Cemetery. Viewing will be on Sunday, from 4-7pm at the funeral home and on Monday, one hr prior to services at the church. Memorials are in care of the family.
Frances A. Degan was born on Jan. 28, 1927 at Topeka, KS to Edgar and Gertrude(Meyer) Degan. She attended schools in the Topeka area culminating with her graduation from Washburn University with a degree in Home Economics.
She lived in the LaMar Colorado area from 1951 until 1970, moving to Columbus, Nebraska. She owned and operated the Mode O' Day store in Columbus. She later became a Field Consultant for Mode O' Day/Fashion Crossroads. After her retirement, she worked part time for J C Penny in Columbus and Sue's Just A Buck in David City. She also did light office work and answered telephones for Robert's Funeral Home in David City.
She is survived by her son: Stephen(Pat) Sunday of David City; Daugthers: Sally(Les)Olson of Bryan, TX; Gretchen(Norm)Gallant of Columbus; Melinda Sunday of Denver, CO. 11 Grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ed Degan, one sister: Suzanne O'Brien.
