Frances Matejcek, 87, of Brainard, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Services are Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00 pm Friday, June 26, 2009 at Holesovsky Mortuary and from 6:30 - 7:30 pm at Holy Trinity Church, with a Rosary at 7:30 pm at the Church. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9:00 until service time at the Church.
Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Brainard.
Frances was born to Julius and Frances Zetocha on September 12, 1921 on a farm near Brainard. She graduated from Wahoo High School in 1940. On February 18, 1943 she married Joseph E. Matejcek at St. Vitus Church in Touhy.
Frances was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Trinity PCCW, a Gold Star Member of Rejda Post 273 American Legion for 58 years, and the Wahoo Beaver - Bartek Ladies VFW # 4502 for 46 years. She loved the outdoors, animals, farming and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter: Donna (Ben) Steager of Brainard, brother: Ernest (Margie) Zetocha of Brainard, sister: Bonita (Don)_ Arney of Wahoo; grandchildren: Robert (Lisa) Steager, David (Michelle) Steager and Aaron Steager; great grandchildren: Christopher, Brianne, Mekayla, Jessie, Abbigail and Joseph.
Memorials are suggested to American Legion Auxillary, Brainard Fire & Rescue or In Care of the Family.
