Florence Kamenske

January 26, 1918 — February 24, 2010

Florence A. Kamenske, 92, of Bellwood, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at David Place in David City.
Funeral Services will be Friday, February 26, 2010, at 10:30am in the Bellwood United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in the Bellwood Cemetery.
Viewing will be on Friday, from 9:30am to 10:30am at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Bellwood United Methodist Church or the Bellwood VFD.
Florence A. West was born on January 26, 1918 at Bellwood to Harry and Anna(Ladwig)West. She attended Bellwood schools and graduated from Bellwood High School..
She married Lloy Kamenske on May 15, 1941. Two children were born to this union.
Mrs. Kamenske worked for many years at Didiers Market in Bellwood as the front clerk. She also took on side jobs of hair styling/cutting in her home.
Florence enjoyed her cross-stitch work, needlepoint, embroidery and with her perfectionist style, she won many purple ribbons at the county fair. She was also known for her Angel Food Cake. Raising flowers and traveling to the Black Hills on a motorcyle with her husband were some of her favorite memories.
She was a member of the Bellwood United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the local Widow's Club and a 50+ year member of the Daughters of the Union Veterans.
Florence is survived by her daughter: Marilyn, three brothers: Harry West of Glenville, PA: Jim West of David City; John(Pearl)West of Nevada, MO; one sister: Thelma Hascall of David City; nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloy in 1964; one daughter: Darlene in 1954; two sisters: Doris(infant), and Lois Backman.
