Evelyn Uphoff

Evelyn M. Uphoff, 89, of Rising City, passed away, Saturday, November 15, 2008 at David Place in David City.
Services are 10:30 am Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at First Lutheran Church in Rising City. Visitation will be 5 - 7 pm Monday, November 17, at Chermok Funeral Home in David City. Burial will be in the Circle Mound Cemetery in Rising City.
Evelyn was born to Harm and Anna (Plank) Kruse on December 2, 1918, on a farm north of Brady, NE. On February 6, 1937 she married Richard D. Uphoff at the First Lutheran Church in Rising City. Evelyn was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rising City, Rebeccah Lodge, the Friendship Club and Chair of the Republican Party in Nebraska. Survivors include sons: Kent (Sandra) Uphoff of Sun Prairie, WI, Brian (Estelle) Uphoff of Phoenix, AZ, daughter: Karen (James) Lewis of Golden, CO; sisters: Wanda Dallegge and Jean Hover of Rising City, NE, and Miriam Wozny of Columbus, NE; 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
