Evelyn Shalon

Evelyn was born January 12, 1922 at Snyder to George and Mary (Kruger) Yosten. She received her schooling in the Snyder Public Schools. She married Rudolph Shalon December 27, 1945 in Madison and they lived southof Linwood. Evelyn loved to bake and cook for her family and worked many jobs in Schuyler including cook at the Schuyler Grade School, housekeeper, aid at BeeBee Retirement Home and bus driver for the Senior Center. Evelyn died January 11, 2010 at Alegent Health Memorial Hospital in Schuyler at the age of 87. Evelyn is survived by four children; Marvin (Susie) Shalon and Peggy (Mrs. Roger) Garbers both of Columbus, Rick (Renee') Shalon f Blue Spring MO, Phyllis (Mrs. Jeff) White of Beaufort, SC; 7 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; one sister, Grace Tichota of Cedar Rapids, NE She is preceded in death by her husband, Rudy ( 4/15/1965);six sisters, Gerturde, Marie, Alice, Lorena, Catherine and Gladys; two brothers, William and Leonard Yosten. Funeral lunch will be srved at the St. Mary's Social Center.
