Evelyn M. Perry, age 93 of Garrison, died Sunday June 24, 2012 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
In keeping with her wishes, she has donated her body to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 11:00am in St. Francis(Center)Church with Fr. Brian Connor officiating. A parish rosary will be said at 10:30am in the church. Lunch will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in David City.
In lieu of flowers: Memorials have been suggested to The American Cancer Society or to the Donor's Choice.
Evelyn Marie (Korinek) Perry was born August 16, 1918 to Frank and Mary (Riha) Korinek at Dwight. She was united in marriage to Charles C. Perry on May 1, 1936. To this union, 3 children were born.
She joined St. Francis Catholic Church (Center) on December 18, 1975. She was a member of St. Francis Altar Society; VFW Lundsford Ladies 5814 Auxiliary; Red Ladies Friends and Neighbors Club as well as Eagles Arie 2273. She was also proud to be a breast cancer survivor for many years and was active in the American Cancer Society. She also volunteered at many local organizations.
Survivors include: daughters Deby (Ron) Hagan of Farwell and Karon (Larry) Hansen of Gretna; a sister Wilma (August) Guzzetta; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as many other special relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chuck in 1989; son Dennis in 1943; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
