Eunice M. Smaus, 85, formerly of Bruno, passed away February 10, 2018 at the Bulter County Health Care Center.

Eunice was born on October 11, 1932 to Adolph and Alice(Pacula) Dolezal on the farm near Bruno. She was united in marriage to Milton Smaus on September 8, 1953 at St. Peter's in Bellwood. They celebrated 63 years together.
Eunice was a lifelong resident of rural Bruno, where she enjoyed being a farmers wife, homemaker, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother. She took pride in her garden and her flowers. She loved reading, sewing and listening to Czech music. Above all, her greatest joy was doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Parish and Altar Society, along with instructing CCD classes.
Eunice is survived by her children: Jim(Kathy) Smaus, of Prague, Nancy(Thomas Williams Jr.) Marshall, of New Bern, NC, and Karen(Codr) Smaus of David City; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ken (Carolyn) Dolezal of Lincoln and Don (Pat) Dolezal of Bellevue, four sisters: Marion (Joe) Stehno of Clarkson, Donna ( Bill) Andel of David City, Susan (Mark) Stanley of Nevada City, CA and Vicki Duey of Lincoln, many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Adolph and Alice Dolezal; husband: Milton Smaus in 2015; son: Tom Smaus in 2017; grandson: Jacob(Jake) Smaus; brother: Arnold; and sisters: Alice and Bernice.
